    Yayasan Strategik Sosial (YSS)

The Yayasan Strategik Sosial was formed in 1997 as the social arm of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC), a component party of the Barisan National Government in Malaysia with two main objectives. First, it would undertake systematic research and strategic planning on issues related to social problems affecting the Malaysian Indian community. Second, it would draw up and implement services and programmes towards the social upliftment of needy and marginalised members of the Indian community. The services and projects would be geared towards helping individuals, families and communities, and providing opportunities for the poor and needy to uplift themselves.

Persatuan Sri Ramakrishna Sarada (The Ramakrishna Mission)

The Mission has been working in Petaling Jaya for over twenty five years - and works with surrounding communities on religious, social, educational and secular development issues. The Mission is guided by a senior monk of the International Mission (HQ - Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, India). The Mission works with communities, particularly those living in Kampong Medan, Kampong Lindungan and Desa Hormat (as well as through the single-mother project).

    Atmah Association

The association consists of a small number of professionals and teachers who provide programs and activities for the children and adults located in these squatter settlements. The association is based on a philosophical framework of concern and care for their fellow citizens, particularly those who have been marginalised by extreme poverty and loss of access to education and basic health and security services. These individuals are committed to assisting in some form of social care and planned [programs over weekends. The group that the Globalism institute is working with has based their work predominantly in the KTM Longhouse areas.
